Winter-Proofing Your Dome House: Heating, Insulation and Snow Load
A transparent dome in snow is one of the most bookable rooms in hospitality. Making it comfortable is a planning problem, not a product problem.
Start with snow load: our standard units are rated for 45–60 kg/m², with engineered reinforcement available for alpine sites up to 70 kg/m².
Heating works best with a correctly sized HVAC unit and the mounting base we supply — the dome retains heat far better than canvas, and the transparent shell acts as a passive solar collector on sunny days.
Condensation is the real enemy in winter. Ventilation planning and the optional automatic vent opener keep interiors dry and guests comfortable.
